Sabarimala , South India's most famous pilgrim center, is located about 90 km(60 miles) from Chengannur. The shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is a refuge for devotees from all over the world.

The holiest of Sabarimala pilgrimages is from November to the second week of January. In addition, the temple will be open for the devotees on the 1st day of every malayalam month. ( For exact dates follow this link).

Pilgrims can present their offerings at the following temples : The Thiruvaranmula temple, The Thrippuliyur temple, The Thrichitattu temple, The Thiruvanvandoor temple and the Thrikkodithanam temple. The Pandalam Palace where Lord Ayyappa was brought up is a special stop in our itinerary. Before reaching the final destination of Sabarimala we have halt at Erumeli and at the banks of river Pamba.
